Privacy policy

This policy explains how Altitude Construction Supply ("Altitude", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use altitude-supply.com (the "Site"), including the contractor and specifier areas, and the Site's connection to our own QuickBooks Online account.

Information we collect

• Information you give us. When you send a message, request an account, place an online order, request a quote or delivery quote, submit a credit application, warranty request or project inquiry, or sign up for Altitude University, we collect what you enter, such as your name, company, email, phone, addresses, project details, order details and any files you upload.
• Account information. If you have a contractor, specifier or staff login, we keep your email, the access we have approved for you, and a record of logins (time, success or failure).
• Activity in the logged-in areas. When you are logged in as a contractor or specifier, we record which pages and tools you use and saved estimates, so we can support you and improve the Site.
• Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider receives standard request information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use public pages; it uses cookies and does not run on staff or account pages.
• Cookies and browser storage. We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your language choice and support the online cart, and browser storage to remember things like your cart and form details on your own device.

How we use information

• To answer your questions, provide quotes, process and deliver orders, and open and manage accounts.
• To show approved contractors their own pricing and to provide documents, calculators and submittal packages.
• To send emails you request or that relate to your account, orders, quotes and invoices. Price update emails can be turned off with the unsubscribe link in each one.
• To keep the Site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and improve our products and services.
• For our own business records (customer relationship management, sales, inventory and accounting).

QuickBooks Online

Altitude staff can connect the Site to Altitude's own QuickBooks Online company. The connection is used only by Altitude, for Altitude's own records. It reads business information such as items, quantities, costs, vendors, customers and balances so our staff can keep inventory, orders and billing consistent. The sign-in tokens are stored encrypted, only Altitude's owners can connect or disconnect it, and it can be disconnected at any time from the Site or from QuickBooks. We do not sell or share QuickBooks data with anyone.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that run the Site for us (website hosting, database and file storage, email delivery, text message delivery for staff sign-in codes, and analytics), with manufacturers or engineering partners when you ask us to involve them in your project, and when required by law. These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us.

How we protect information

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access for staff, login limits, and encryption for stored sign-in tokens. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes above, for our business and tax records, and as required by law. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need.

Your choices

• You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or close your account, by contacting us.
• You can unsubscribe from price update emails at any time.
• You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some parts of the Site (logins, cart) need them to work.

Children

The Site is for businesses and construction professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
